Executive/ Artistic Director

Position: Executive and Artistic Director
Hours: Full Time
Pay: $35 - $50 an hour (dependent on experience)
Summary of Duties:
The Executive and Artistic Director is responsible for the overall leadership and vision of the Mendocino Ballet. They are responsible for the overall wellbeing of the culture within the studio, to help it move forward in the right direction. Be it directing, teaching, interacting with the community, parents, setting volunteer expectations and student expectations. They oversee the daily administrative operations of the organization, including supervising staff, managing office functions, and overseeing communications. They develop and implement policies, ensure alignment with Board directives, and prepare agendas and reports to facilitate informed decision-making by the Board. The Director also manages the organization’s finances, including budget preparation, purchasing, and reporting, while directing promotional efforts and public relations. Additionally, they guide both short-term goals and long-range planning, represent the organization in external relations, and oversee all productions, classes, events, internal communications, and community outreach.

Creative Movement Teacher

Position: Creative Movement/ Pre- Ballet Instructor for ages 3-6 yrs old.
Hours: 10+ hrs a week
Pay: $17- $25 an hour (dependent on experience)
Summary of Duties:
We are currently looking for an engaging creative movement and/or pre-ballet teacher to serve our community of pre-school aged children. If you love working with kids, have a background in dance this is a great opportunity for you! We would love to hire someone who has a passion for teaching children movement in a fun, engaging, structured environment. Our classes range from 3-5 year olds and 5-6 year olds. Students at these ages are learning how to work as a group, how get in line, take turns, follow instruction, and most importantly, how their body works. Movement can significantly impact the way a child’s brain develops and there are many studies showing that different types of movement coordination activates different parts of the brain, helping children to develop and regulate/balance their emotions, body and mind all at the same time.
